The Best Electric Cars of 2022

The electric vehicle (EV) revolution is here! More and more automakers are coming out with their own non-emission cars. Drivers can expect more hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Plus, improved features, like battery technology and charging, mean that an EV future is possible.
Of course, that means more manufacturers will offer vehicles outside of just economy-sized models. Major automakers are now introducing EV SUVs and even all-electric pickup trucks.

Let’s take a look at some of the best electric vehicles of 2022:

  1. 1. Chevrolet Bolt EV

Surprisingly, the Chevrolet Bolt EV beat the Tesla Model 3 for the U.S. News’ Best Electric Vehicle award. This vehicle is the best option for those who want to invest in an electric vehicle soon. Its stand-out feature is its 259-mile range on a full charge. For only $36,5000 USD, it’s one of the most affordable electric cars on the list.

  2. 2. Hyundai Ioniq 5

This electric SUV will turn heads; it’s one of the best on the market. The Ioniq 5 offers plenty of room to stretch out, an eye-popping design, and a solid range. It also features a central display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen situated on the dashboard. The infotainment system also offers support for Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

  3. 3. Toyota BZ4X

Toyota has returned to the EV industry with its BZ4X crossover, though the production version won’t hit showrooms until mid-2022. In the meantime, it’s getting rave reviews for its battery life, charging, and range. The Toyota BZ4X features a 64.0-kWh battery pack that offers a 250-mile range in the front-wheel-drive model. Toyota has also teased the release of a dual-motor-all-wheel-drive model in this range. However, at the time of this article, there are no details on this model. The company only mentioned that solar panels will be integrated into the BZ4X to provide enough energy for a 1000-mile range.

  4. 4. Tesla Model 3

This vehicle was one of the best luxury EV cars of 2021 and it continues its reign into 2022. The Model 3 is an electric sedan that comes in your choice of trim levels: Long Range AWD, Performance, and Standard Plus. Each trim differs when it comes to acceleration and driving range. All Tesla vehicles have full self-driving capability. Shortly, this feature will also offer over-the-air updates. Other features include the ability to change lanes and automated driving features. Drivers will get an estimated 263 miles of range, as well as a 15-inch touchscreen, keyless entry and start, 18-inch wheels, and wireless charging.

  5. 5. Kia Niro EV

In 2020, the Niro was one of the nominees that qualified for Green Car Reports’ “Best Car to Buy”. While it’s an affordable vehicle, it doesn’t feel like a cheap one. The Niro EV boasts high-quality features, like a 7.0-touchscreen with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Other features include active lane assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, Harman Kardon premium audio, heated and ventilated leather seats, and a power sunroof.
